Texas G.O.L.D. is a coordinated effort among a majority of the Texas & national gun groups to promote constitutional carry in Texas, along with other gun & knife legislation.
Texas G.O.L.D. is scheduled in conjunction with the Republican Party of Texas legislative priority day since constitutional carry is the #1 RPT priority for 2017.
Join us at the State Capitol on March 2! Stay for a few hours or all day. Your presence will make a difference. Be sure to register in advance to receive a free T-shirt!

LocationCapitol Complex, Austin, TX
Park in the Capitol Visitors’ Parking Garage, 1201 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin. Enter from E 12th St. or E 13th St.
First 2 hours are free, each 1/2 hour after that is $1, maximum $12 daily.
You can sometimes also find metered parking especially around the west side of the Capitol. The meters accept credit cards.
Texas G.O.L.D. Headquarters and Briefings: JHR Room 130 (John H. Reagan Building, on the Capitol complex, just northwest of the actual Capitol)

We’ll visit legislators’ offices inside the Capitol. Most of them are in the underground Capitol extension.
Stop by our training room first (JHR 130) so you can get building maps and/or join a team with a leader to guide you through the Capitol halls.
If you have experience, contact us to ask about being a team leader.

Attend one of our briefings (10am or 1pm) then join teams to visit all legislators’ offices. Feel free to attend only 10-12, or 1-3, or all day. If you’re new to activism, we recommend you attend the RPT training from 9:30-12.
You’re also welcome to stop by JHR 130 anytime 8-4 on March 2 for handouts, t-shirts, and information.

10:30am – divide into groups and visit legislators’ offices in the Capitol

The RPT is conducting an educational legislative day, also on March 2, to promote the RPT priorities, which include constitutional carry.
The day’s agenda will include:
9:00 am – Welcome / Orientation
9:30 – 12:00 – Training Sessions
- How to track legislation
- Tips for effective advocacy with elected legislators
- Getting the right message to the right committee
12:15 – 1:15 – Lunch at the Capitol Grille ( Dutch Treat! )
1:15 – 2:00 – Small Group Tours of the Texas Capitol
2:00 – Visits with your legislator/other legislator offices
